Mission Statement
by admin - December 9th, 2009In March 2010 Joe Grubb is setting off on an expedition to raise money for The Elevate Hope Foundation. He’s come up with a very unique, exciting way to do so. He’s going to hike the entire Appalachian Trail non-stop from Georgia to Maine. The Trail is 2,178 miles long and will take him about five months to complete. The Appalachian Trail is the most visited Trail in North America with 3-4 million visitors a year, yet few can ever say they’ve completed it. There are only about 10,000 recorded completions since 1936. I’m sure you’re asking why? Why he chose to do this.
Here’s why, The Elevate Hope Foundation’s mission. As they are dedicated to providing abused and abandoned children an alternative method of therapy through music and the arts, and funding special services and programs that assist the needs of these children using these fundamental methods. This issue is critical and it’s our mission as well as Joe’s to assist these very children.
The Stats are staggering. An estimated 794 thousand children across the United States were victimized in 2007 alone, while Child Protective Services received about 3.2 million referrals of abuse, maltreatment, and neglect.
“How can I sit back and do nothing? Children are dying every day as a result of such abuse and we, as a nation, one person at a time, must take a stand for these innocent children. It starts with me”.
-Joe Grubb
Growing up Joe was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to pursue music and the arts and he personally knows what a positive impact it can make on one’s life given the right opportunities and the right environment. The Elevate Hope Foundation is providing these children with the life-changing tools that are vital to setting and accomplishing their goals, enriching their lives, and inspiring them to strive for greatness.
“I know that with the right help and support, the E.H.F. can and will change the lives and outcomes for many children all over the nation, which is why I chose to help.”
Why the Appalachian? “I chose the Appalachian Trail for a lot of reasons. It’s challenging, though I know it will never come close to the real challenge these children face every day. The trail also stretches through 14 states up the Eastern Continental Divide, providing myself, along with others, thousands of opportunities to raise donations, get the masses Involved, raise awareness, and shed some much some much needed light on these children’s reality.”
“I will simplify my life and surroundings so that these children may simply live.”
-Joe Grubb
I’m sure you’re asking how? How does one person really think he can make an impact?
“The great thing is, I’m not alone, with your help and support, the help and support of the Elevate Hope Foundation, and the help and support from our sponsors we can not only make an impact but create new beginnings for these children, and leave an impression that will last a lifetime. I’m personally asking everyone I know to do their part and contribute by any means possible.”
“Nobody can do everything, but everyone can do something.”
“Maybe that something for you is telling a friend, a neighbor, someone at work, anyone who will listen, open their hearts and support. Join me, and together we can instill hope, enhance their quality of life, and above all, the ability to dream. They are the future, let’s give them one.”
–Joe Grubb
Joe’s trip will last about five months and we encourage and invite you to follow every step of the way. We will constantly be updating our website and using social networking sites to post pictures, give you news, events, progress, and status of Joe’s hike. Joe will be able to update and interact via wireless every 5-8 days if not more. He wants to give everyone the chance to interact and follow his life while on the trail. Everyone is encouraged to get involved, in any way they can.
